The AP arms race-take note!

July 14, 2017

I was doing a quick search of the SAT Subject Tests average scores last week and came across at stat for UCLA in 2012:  the number of AP courses accepted students took was - 9!  I was stunned as I believed the number of APs had grown from the last few years from 4-5 to 7-8.  I knew there were students taking more and more APs and the average number in 2014 was 12.  But 3 years ago it was this high? Frightening.  Students and parents read an article

on the grim reality of elite school admissions' AP arms race.  The UCs are elite institution and they have the same admitted student profile as private elite schools.  Click here
